The newer session functions are not online. The newest manual is at
http://snaps.php.net/manual/en/html/ref.session.html.
But if you look
into the archive at http://snaps.php.net/manual/en/
you can notice that
the last build was on Mai 24. This may be so because the DocBook
installation on va.php.net is broken.
