I got this exact problem on Linux 6.0 with apache 1.3.12.
I have also included Frank Joerdens's post I dig out,
where he seem to think it is css style sheet interfering.
I am going to try his theory.
Any pointers greatly appreciated. Before I have to go to
100s of pages to attach the SID to every link.
Thanks,
Jay

I did a little more experimenting and my theory now would be that my
stylesheets (nothing fancy at all, just positioning) are interfering in
some mysterious way with the SID embedding. For instance, if my html is
----------- begin snippet -----------
<div class=left>
<p class=main><a href="projekte.html">Projekte</a></p>
<p class=indent>Projektdaten</p>
<p class=main><a
href="firmendaten_update.html">Firmendaten</a></p>
-------- end snippet ---------
I get the above nonsense. However, if it is, for example
----------- begin snippet -----------
<div class=left>
<p class=main><a href="projekte.html">Projekte</a></p>
<p class=indent>Projektdaten</p>
<p class=indent>Projektdaten</p>
<p class=main><a
href="firmendaten_update.html">Firmendaten</a></p>
-------- end snippet ---------
or if it is
----------- begin snippet -----------
<div class=left>
<p><a href="projekte.html">Projekte</a></p>
<p>Projektdaten</p>
<p class=main><a
href="firmendaten_update.html">Firmendaten</a></p>
-------- end snippet ---------
there's no problem at all. I tried other permutations which all did not
produce the error. My question is, how could stylesheet tags interfere with
the embedding at all in this fashion? The problem is identical on IE 5 and Netscape
6
