Bug Type: Compile Failure
Description: Link Failure
I've been able to locate the bug, which resides in three files in the [phpdir]/sapi/apache
folder: mod_php4.c, php_apache.c and sapi_apache.c which all include the file
'ap_config.h' which includes 'os.h'
Confused? So was I.
So, when the three files are compiled into their 'objects' each contains a reference to
the same function '_ap_os_is_path_absolute' (which can be found in os.h) and libtool (the
linker) won't combine the three files into libphp4.la because it can't have three copies
of the same symbol at once. Thus, it dies (or continues without telling you) and you're back to
square one. I've been at this for a week, and am ready to toss my powerbook into the trash.
I've all but given up, but I'm going to try and update my libtool, and hope that that does
the trick. If you have any other ideas, please let me know.
