This results from a change in the type of an undefined varaible. In PHP 3.0, it was an empty
string. In PHP 4.0, it's a null value (i.e., not something with a definite type). If
it's converted to a string, it'd still be "", but when comparing a null value
with '0', PHP would consider them equivalent.
