Hi Andi, yes, /tmp does exist (I even experimented with a different name, but to no avail). I now have installed the final version of php 4.0, I did not change any defaults in the php.ini and the same thing happens. When I set session.auto_start to "1", php doesn't work anymore at all (I get the error-message: "page not available") and whenever I try to call a php-file a file with zero length is created in the tmp directory. The tmp directory then looks like this: 10.06.00 23:15 0 sess_6ebc442fae10ccc635973c67fd42d227 10.06.00 23:07 0 sess_90b49ed08486b73db462defa83b298ca 10.06.00 23:07 0 sess_9cca50c16ca1cf11524af6f2c0aad9ed 10.06.00 23:07 0 sess_d403b5e43a7dab42770d469bfe2197a3 Dieter ----- Original Message ----- From: "Bug Database" <php-dev@lists.php.net> To: <d.schaefer@echo.ch> Sent: Friday, June 09, 2000 4:51 PM Subject: PHP 4.0 Bug #4332 Updated: Session-Management doesn't work > ID: 4332 > Updated by: andi > Reported By: d.schaefer@echo.ch > Status: Open > Bug Type: Misbehaving function > Assigned To: > Comments: > > Does /tmp exist on your current drive? > > Full Bug description available at: > http://bugs.php.net/version4/?id=4332 >
