mcrypt compile problems

Hello,
I am on RedHat 6.1, egcs-2.91.66
I've some troubles with mcrypt support.
I installed the libmcrypt-2.3.4-1.src.rpm (had to add tge flag
--disable-posix-thread to build it)
it's API_VERSION is 20000222 (from mcrypt.h)
Now php 4.0.0 (not the cvs version) complains while compiling mcrypt
support about:
mcrypt.c: TRIPLEDES undeclared
161: MCRYPT_RC6_256 undeclared
163: MCRYPT_RC6_128 undeclared
164: MCRYPT_RC6_192 undeclared
I think it has something to do with versions of mcrypt not being
compatible... Could somebody point me in the right direction. (Or tell
me what exact RPM I need)
