Actually, you can do this with a one-liner:
strtr($text,"abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyzABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ","nopqrstu
vwxyzabcdefghijklmNOPQRSTUVWXYZABCDEFGHIJKLM");
