Hi Sascha,
I found that a clean cvs checkout worked around the problem. DIR is defined in dirent.h and wonder
if the configure process was not picking up the existence of dirent.h for some reason. Unfortunately
I do not have configure output from when I was experiencing this problem.
BTW
- RH 6.0
- glibc 2.1.1
- using linux 2.2.11 includes and running the same version
