This seems bad. You need to do a full Oracle8i install to get all the
proper files. I recently download Oracle8i-8.1.6 from www.oracle.com, did
a full install and built everything smoothly on a Linux Mandrake 7.1b
(kernel 2.4-test2 glibc-2.1.3 system. So it does actually work.
