I'm not sure your setup, but on most of ours, you can't run updatedb as the
werb server user, updatedb usually needs to be run as root....
I'm not sure if you can run a program in the background either, anyone else
want to comment?

Subject: [PHP-DEV] How to star program backgrund?
Hello php-dev,
<?
$RunCommand = exec("updatedb&");
$OldShenTime = date("His");
print "Start shen at $OldShenTime\n";
$RunCommand = exec("ls -al&");
$OldShangTime = date("His");
print "Start shang at $OldShangTime\n";
?>
Why "updatedb&" can't run backgrund?
I use php-4.0.0 as CGI.
Sorry for english so poor!
