PHP3 and PH4 on the same apache server

hi,
i have tried to compile php3 and php4 on the same machine..
Each of them works fine but not when they are activated together in the
hhtp.conf..
The demon starts and stop immediately with no apparent error.
In the errorlog file i can see some segmentation fault in 2 child
processes.
Is someone having the same problem solved?
