Perhaps java.library is misnamed. ;-)
The first two options I implemented were classpath and library. Later I
added the rest of the options that can be specified on a JVM, and classpath
became class.path.

Agreed.

The above presumes that php_java.dll and the dlls for Java are in your
path. I've gone back and added more text to the README. I hope it helps.
