creating and extension

Hi, I want to create my extension to PHP4 and I'm having lots os difficulties with it. I have ran the ext_skel to create my extension stuffs, after several problems with it, I was finally able to compile PHP with it, in fact when there is a phpinfo() in my test page it shows that it was compiled with --enable-myextension, although when I try to to run the function that ext_skel created for me cofirm_myextension_compiled and it says it cannot find the function.
