This is most probably an error in the Informix ESQL/C libraries.
It looks like the "indicator" variable is not being set correctly to -1 to
indicate a "NULL" variable, so the Informix driver tries to read the BLOB
(which has zero length) and gets an error when allocating 0 bytes of memory.
I could perhaps add a check for zero length BLOBS and treat them as NULL
variables ?
