Extending PHP

Hi, I'm trying to extend PHP, so to have som functions I wrote in C. I've successfully created it and linked it to PHP4. When I run phpinfo(), it shows that my extension is loaded and when I change the PHP_MINFO_FUNCTION(myExtension), it changes ok. When I try to run confirm_myExtension_compiled, I get an error saying it is not loaded even though there is an entry on the function_entry array. When I test for the presence of myExtension using if (extension_loaded('myExtension')) it works fine. Does anyone knows a way to allow me to call my functions?
