I recently posted to this list about php_admin values like safe_mode being
overwritten by .htaccess files. Sorry I didn't notice at first, but this
has already been reported back in March as bug id #3991. As you can see
in the bug report, the person has done quite a bit of research and even
offers a patch to fix the problem, yet it doesn't look like this bug has
been assigned to anyone. Any chance this will be fixed by the next
release? I realize it only affects the system administrator and not the
PHP web site developers but it is a rather annoying bug.
