php4.0.1pl2 dumps core on Solaris ("document contains no data") same as #4049?

Hi All, I'm trying to get Apache 1.3.12 to work with php 4.0.1pl2 under sparc-sun-solaris2.6 (SunOS 5.6 Generic sun4u sparc SUNW, Ultra-1), running from a user account. Compiling and installing goes fine (I've put all config/shared/included files in the same user account); both Apache and php are right out of the box. Apache has no problems without php but with the DSO php4 module it gives "document contains no data" at any script/file and core-dumps, even if the requested file is plain hmtl.
