i'm not sure of the question.

i have something i want to do but i dont know what it is called. lets say i have a url: http://bob.com/path/to/stuff/artist/artistname ok this is what i want to do... i want to take whatever is in the place of artist name and construct a webpage for that artist based on information in the database. that way the following urls: http://bob.com/path/to/stuff/artist/jill http://bob.com/path/to/stuff/artist/sam http://bob.com/path/to/stuff/artist/bob http://bob.com/path/to/stuff/artist/joe would produce a different page for each person depending on the url, but woule have the same effect as http://bob.com/path/to/stuff/artist/?name=jill is this possible. is there a better way to go about it? thanks john
