I have brought this up with the Apache folks. Thanks, Rasmus On removing that line I get the following error ld -Bshareable -o libphp3.so mod_php3.o libmodphp3-so.a regex/libregex.a -lgdbm -Wl,-rpath,/usr/local/site/mysql/lib/mysql -L/usr/local/site/mysql/lib/mysql -lmysqlclient -L/usr/local/site/ldap/lib -lldap -llber -lexpat -lm -ldl -lcrypt -lnsl -lresolv -L/usr/local/site/mysql/lib/mysql -L/usr/local/site/ldap/lib -lmysqlclient -lldap -llber ld: unrecognized option `-Wl,-rpath,/usr/local/site/mysql/lib/mysql' apxs:Break: Command failed with rc=65536 make: *** [libphp3.so] Error 1 I have mysql compiled as a shared-client. I don't know if that causes PHP3 any grief. In any case, I removed the -Wl,-rpath from LIBS in the PHP Makefile and continued. The make process does not build regex/libregex.a. After manually building that. I can get apache to compile but on trying to read a .phtml file. I get a coredump in apache [Thu Nov 19 13:10:40 1998] [notice] httpd: child pid 17478 exit signal Segmentat ion fault (11), possible coredump in /usr/local/site/apache I am going to recompile mysql without making it a shared client (not using --enable-shared) and shall report my findings > > -Rasmus -- Yusuf Goolamabbas yusufg@huge.net -- PHP Development Mailing List http://www.php.net/ To unsubscribe send an empty message to php-dev-unsubscribe@lists.php.net For help: php-dev-help@lists.php.net
