Love Java... but its a tool for a completely different job. Its like
saying PHP is a pair of pliers, why can't it open a tin of beans. Well,
maybe thats not the best analogy...
Each language has its strengths and its weaknesses, just choose the one
that does the job best. Want to pull data out of MySQL and stick it in
a browser, PHP's yer man. In fact, I would say that for the majority of
server side scripting jobs, PHP will get the job done faster and easier
than any other. But there will always be situations where it is not the
best.
C++ tried to be all things to all people, and it ended up a mess....
