Hi
From the TODO list:
* use thread-safe resolver functions (either require BIND 8 or adns).
* provide optional IPv6 support.
Recent glibc provides necessary functions for thread-safe resolving, I'm
not sure what adns is.
I'll start working on IPv6 support really soon. Using getaddrinfo() which
is in recent glibc (and should be in all IPv6 socket APIs - RFC 2553),
one can do protocol independent and thread-safe resolving. So maybe I'll
do some work on the resolving too.
Of course in many cases IPv6 in PHP itself is not so interesting, but
rather in the extensions. The OpenLDAP library (devel version) now has
IPv6 support. Thus one can use LDAP over IPv6 without any IPv6 support
in PHP itself.
