Hi everybody,
I have started on PDF Forms support for PHP3. It is based on the
FDF ToolKit 2.0 from Adobe (http://beta1.adobe.com/ada/acrosdk/forms.html)
What started out as another module finaly ended in modification of
function/post.c and introducing a new Variable which I called
HTTP_POST_DATA. I don't dare to commit the changes to the main source
tree, and like to hear some comments.
Here is what the modules does and what I did to the source.
PDF may have forms included. The mechanism is similar to
HTML forms but the data send to the server has the content-type
application/vnd.fdf and the data itself is in fdf format.
The request method is POST.
1. Problem
PHP3 doesn't recognize the content type, so I made it aware of it.
2. Problem
The fdf format cannot be processed by PHP3. Making HTTP_POST_VARS
from it doesn't work, so I introduced a new variable name
HTTP_POST_DATA which contains the unprocessed post data.
The intergration of the module itself is fairly easy except for some
small problems due to my inexperience.
One of them is:
The FDF Tookit requires on Unix systems to call FDFInitialize() and
FDFFinalize() before and after any other functions from the toolkit
can be called. Are the functions which are called when the module is loaded
and unloaded the proper place to do that?
Could somebody advise me how to proceed.
Uwe
