From: urmo@kodu.ee Operating system: Win98 PHP version: 4.0 Release Candidate 2 PHP Bug Type: Misbehaving function Bug description: get_browser() returns empty string or GPF I am using PHP 4.0.1pl2 precompiled with Apache 1.3.12 Win32 I experimented with different browscap.ini files. Results: 1) original browscap.ini gives GPF in module php4ts.dll 2) modified browscap.ini (I leaved only my browser and default configuration) returns empty string 3) When I removed asterisk (*) from the end of browser description, then I got array, containing browser_name_pattern: Mozilla/4\.0 (compatible; MSIE 5\.0; Windows 98; DigExt) parent: ie 5.0 platform: win98 This is absolutely useless. I need parent to be expanded. My test browscap.ini follows: [IE 5.0] browser=IE Version=5.0 majorver=#5 minorver=#0 frames=TRUE tables=TRUE cookies=TRUE backgroundsounds=TRUE vbscript=TRUE javascript=TRUE javaapplets=TRUE ActiveXControls=TRUE Win16=False beta=False AK=False SK=False AOL=False crawler=False CDF=True [Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 5.0; Windows 98; DigExt)*] parent=IE 5.0 platform=Win98 ;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;; ;;; Default Browser ;;; ;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;; [Default Browser Capability Settings] browser=Default Version=0.0 majorver=#0 minorver=#0 frames=False tables=True cookies=False backgroundsounds=False vbscript=False javascript=False javaapplets=False activexcontrols=False AK=False SK=False AOL=False beta=False Win16=False Crawler=False CDF=False AuthenticodeUpdate=False
