Hi,
I have been testing the PHP unified odbc interface with the latest
version of the Empress RDBMS and it seems to work.
Therefore I would like to add the Empress support to the PHP code.
However, I made the modifications in my copy of the distribution by
poking around inside the source and trying to figure out what I should
do. Therefore, before I submit the changes I would like to confirm that
what I did was at least in the right area :-).
The changes I have made are:
setup:
added Empress to define_option set
added Empress to enable-unified-odbc option
Makefile.in
added EMPRESS_INCLUDE and EMPRESS_LIBS
configure
added with-empress option
configure.in
added with-empress option
config.h.in
added HAVE_EMPRESS definition
build-def.h.in
PHP_EMPRESS_INCLUDE and PHP_EMPRESS_LIBS
aclocal.m4
added AC_FIND_EMPRESS_LIBS
functions/php3_unified_odbc.h
added HAVE_EMPRESS option for locating Empress sql.h and sqlext.h files
functions/unified_odbc.c
added HAVE_EMPRESS option
Without going in to details, does this seem about right?
I should say that when I does this the installation works; although I do
get a lot of warnings to do with mismatches in the ODBC prototypes. But
this seems generally to be related to the fact that the unified_odbc.c
file often doesn't bother to cast the SQLxxx parameters to the weird and
wonderfull MICSROSOFT data types (eg UCHAR FAR* in SQLGetCursorName).
