Is is possible to install both php3 and php 4 with the same
webserver. Specifically, I am using apache 1.3.11 and currently am using
php3 with part of my site. I would like to upgrade to php 4, but don't
want any of the functionality of my site to be down as I test php4 on the
scripts, etc. I would like to install them both, but when I do, it seems
that none of the PHP commands inside the <? ?> are actually executued
(they show up as text in the document). Has anyone tried this?
I have them both installed as DSOs. They compile and install correctly
and my httpd.conf file seems to be configured correctly.
Here are the appropriate lines in the httpd.conf file:
LoadModule php3_module libexec/libphp3.so
LoadModule php4_module libexec/libphp4.so
AddModule mod_php3.c
AddModule mod_php4.c
DirectoryIndex index.php3 index.php4 index.html index.htm index.shtml index.cgi Default.htm
default.htm
AddType application/x-httpd-php3 .php3
AddType application/x-httpd-php3-source .phps
AddType application/x-httpd-php .php
AddType application/x-httpd-php4 .php4
Thanks for your time.

defeats the point of the _once if you are checking for errors in your include.
