Stas: It is still a problem. I downloaded 4.0.1pl2 from Zend. I couldn't install it on the main development server (WinNT 4.0 workstation), so I put it onto a Win98SE box. Running the PHP test script at the command line resulted in the same problem: the script runs without reporting an error, but it fails to create any global variables. The same code running in PHP3 on a Linux box works correctly and echoes the new global variables and their values. So I have experienced this same problem with Win98SE on PHP 4.0.1pl2 and with WinNT4 on PHP 4.0.0, running on different PCs, but not on Linux running PHP3. Could there be any interaction with national settings (I am in Australia, not US), or with other software, or versions of msvcrt.dll? NOTE: I didn't install the Zend version of msvcrt.dll, as I already had a newer version on my PC.
