I assume you're c-client library is version 4.7 ??
There are known problems (reported by the c-client author!)
with dates in that version. The author suggested using
the newer version of the library:
ftp://cac.washington.edu/imap/imap-2000.RELEASE-CANDIDATE.4.tar.gz
There are numerous bugs fixed in that version.
Please try it and report if problem is solved.
I'm not able to try it out myself for now but
will later on.
