Hi, I'm used to compiling on Linux but I need to compile a win32 PHP4 so I can put some debugging stuff in the odbc support. OK, I've installed MS VC++ 6.0, and the service pack (2). I downloaded the source zip and the win32 extras zip, and unzipped the latter into the win32 subdir of the former, as instructed in the faq. I opened win32/php4.dsw, and persuaded it to also open ext/mysql/libmysql/libmysql.dsp, php4dll.dsp, Zend/Zend.dsp. I now have the following workspace: +libmysql classes +php4 classes +php4dll classes +Zend classes I then selected Build->Batch Build, and selected: Zend - Win32 Release_inline libmysql - ditto php4 - ditto php4dll - ditto It gets quite far, then fails with 110 errors and 58 warnings. Doh! e.g. failed to (or don't know how to) build d:\src\php-4.0.1pl2\dl\snmp\winsnmp.c couldn't find arpa/inet.h syntax errors galore struct tm * problems (seems to be undefined)... If it really matters, I can put the error log up somewhere. I suspect there's just some headers I have to download somewhere. Now, if someone could help me getting the compile working, I could try and fix up the errors I'm getting with ODBC. See my message to php-dev earlier today.
