IMO it's clear enough - parser couldn't read the file.

No, it shouldn't. Directories are not empty files. Let's not add kludges
on top of hacks on top of mess. Everything that can be read as a file is
OK for us. Everything that can't - not OK. If we now go and start parsing
all filetypes for all OSes we won't finish it this century.
