Linux 2.2.9 on RH 6.2 I have the following configure command CFLAGS=-O2 ../php4/configure \ --with-apache=../apache_1.3.12 \ --prefix=/usr/local/site/php \ --with-db2=/usr/local/site/BerkeleyDB \ --with-ldap=/usr/local/site/ldap \ --with-gd=/usr/local/site/gd \ --with-mhash \ --with-mcrypt \ --enable-calendar \ --enable-track-vars \ --enable-magic-quotes \ --disable-debug \ Running this gives the following errors checking whether to include LDAP support... yes checking for MCAL support... no checking for mcrypt support... yes checking for init_mcrypt in -lmcrypt... no checking for mcrypt_module_open in -lmcrypt... no configure: error: Sorry config.log has the following lines int main() { init_mcrypt() ; return 0; } configure:21259: checking for mcrypt_module_open in -lmcrypt configure:21278: gcc -o conftest -O2 -Wl,-rpath,/usr/local/lib -L/usr/local/lib conftest.c -lmcrypt -lldap -llber -lpng -lz -lgd -ldb -lresolv -lm -ldl -lcryp t -lnsl -lresolv -lltdl 1>&5 /usr/bin/ld: cannot open -lldap: No such file or directory collect2: ld returned 1 exit status configure: failed program was: #line 21267 "configure" #include "confdefs.h" /* Override any gcc2 internal prototype to avoid an error. */ /* We use char because int might match the return type of a gcc2 builtin and then its argument prototype would still apply. */ char mcrypt_module_open(); int main() { mcrypt_module_open() ; return 0; } Changing the configure line to have either --with-mcrypt or --with-ldap lets it run to completion, combining both leads to bad juju Regards, Yusuf -- Yusuf Goolamabbas yusufg@outblaze.com
