CB>> CB>> Hey Stas, any news (especially on #5410) =8) Basically, the situation is as follows: 1. popen function is not meant to work in non-console applications (thus states the Windows docs). Since IIS is not console application, popen doesn't work (and, really, fork in IIS is not what you would want anyway - you don't need two IISes). 2. The same docs have example of how to do it without popen. In best Windows style, this is 2+ pages of code, with function calls like GetFileHandleWithSecurityContextAndStoreItInAVariable. I tried to get it working in PHP context, but had no much success yet. Since I'm very short on time, I'm not sure I could do it before 4.0.2. 3. Also, I'm not too good with windows internals (and not enjoy knowing about them, either), so if somebody who knows what is going there and having experience in windows files and IPC could give a hand, it would be very helpful. I will to share any information I've got from MSDN and following tries. Also, if somebody has established environment that allows him to debug IIS modules, it would help a lot if that somebody would look at this - because I have to reboot every time something doesn't work in ISAPI module, and it's really irritating and time-consuming. Windows development is so little fun for me I need to convince myself every time I am going to do it. If it's easier for somebody, please give a hand. -- Stanislav Malyshev stas@zend.com http://www.zend.com/ +972-3-6139665 ext.106
