Bug description: Core Dump when PHP4 compiled DSO with MySQL
I am configuring PHP as follows:
./configure --with-apxs --with-mysql=/usr/local --with-imap=/usr --enable-versioning
I have tried it both with and without IMAP and without the versioning. The only way I can get PHP4
to work is to --without-mysql. I have compiled PHP3.16 on the same machine (with the same config)
and have no problems. I have also tried this with PHP4pl2 with the same problem. I have seen a few
other bug reports on this (5900 and 5902 and I am sure this is 5701's problem too) and on 5902
the finger is pointed at pthreads. The suggestion is to re-compile MySQL without pthreads, I tried
that, it still doesn't work. I even tried recompilint MySQL with pthreads to see if that made
a difference, and MySQL wouldn't even compile (I got a bunch of file not found errors). Also
it has been suggested to include the full path to apxs, this doesn't help either.
I have configured apache to use both PHP3 and PHP4 and just with PHP4 (I have disabled mod_perl)
both configurations have problems. I have tried this on two different machines (both with
RedHat6.2) one has all the errata the other is an out-of-the-box install. Both have the same
problems with PHP4. Apache is: Apache/1.3.12 (Unix) (Red Hat/Linux) here is the backtrace:

I wouldn't think this is a bug, just a misconfiuration, except that PHP3 works fine. I hope
there is an easy solution to this. I really want to use PHP4, but I must have MySQL support.
Thanks;
