diff + merge

hello all, sometime in the near future it may be necessary for me to add a diff() and merge() function to PHP for a project i will be working on. i imagine that they would look something like this: string diff(string basetext, string modtext); eg. $difftext = diff($oldtext,$newtext); string merge(string basetext, string diff [,string addbefore,string addafter]); eg. $newtext = merge($oldtext,$difftext); OR $newtext = merge($oldtext,$difftext,"text inserted below this line","text inserted above this line"); if anyone can suggest an alternative solution or is interested in helping out i would greatly appreciate your feedback. thanks, - avi -- People were always asking me, did I know Tyler Durden.
