Seriously, yes, we have been able to compile PHP with gd1.8.3, I or someone else on this list can probably help you figure out how to install PHP with gd1.8.3. However, it should be mentioned that this type of question is meant for either php-install@lists.php.net or php-general@lists.php.net. As a quick guess at your problem... You've had a previous version (before 1.8.3) of GD installed on your computer. You now try and compile PHP with gd1.8.3 but alas, it doesn't work.... What you need to do is remove *all* GD components from your computer, then re-install gd1.8.3, then compile PHP. It should work. Good Luck, Sterling
