I got past the problem by adding
#include <sys/types.h>
to the main/SAPI.c
Every thing ran through make without error.
Now make install fails with:
/usr/var/www/bin/apxs -i -a -n php4 libs/libphp4.so
cp libs/libphp4.so /var/www/libexec/libphp4.so
cp: libs/libphp4.so: No such file or directory
the libs directory conatains libphp4.a and libphp4.la but no libphp4.so
Please help.
