PHP version: 4.0.2
PHP Bug Type: Misbehaving function
Bug description: chop() fails clearing whitespace at end of string
When a text file has a Carriage Return/Line Feed character sequence at the end of each line, the
chop() function only discards the Line Feed character and retains the Carriage Return character as a
blank. This should be treated as whitespace and also be removed from the end.
Using chop() in a Windows environment means programming my own version of chop() to compensate for
this problem.
