I've made the hostconnect() function use IPv6 for those who have
getaddrinfo() and an IPv6 enabled host. I've also made it try all
addresses for a host before giving up.
This is now used by fopen for HTTP access, so if you do for
instance fopen("http://www.uninett.no/",
"r") it would first
try IPv6, and if that fails, it will try IPv4, since it has both
an IPv6 and an IPv4 address. IPv6 addresses can't be used yet,
due to parsing problems. I will fix that. Let me know if this
doesn't work for you.
I've tested the new code on Linux, FreeBSD and Solaris, but I'm not
very surprised if people have compile problems.
If you find that you can't compile the current CVS, in particular
if it happens in network.c, please let me know immediately. I would
also like to know if you get warnings compiling network.c.
