It's a bit weird at first, but it makes sense. :) It's simply this:
the remote file--the one being included--is actually being *parsed* by
the remote server--its output is what is then being included into your
script. It's not really being included.
That's why the .txt extension fixed it--the remote server isn't set up
to parse .txt files.
