Bug description: is_link malfunction?
If the destination of a link is not found, is_link will return false. Performing readlink on the
link still returns the intended destination. The link, regardless of whether the destination exists
or not, is still a link. Wouldn't it make more sense to have is_link return true, and allow the
user to then perform checks to see whether the destination is valid?
