Ok I see only 2 character, My mistake.
But, their is another problem in that the automtic generated salt, i.e if
you use just crypt($myString)
have changed semantics between 4.0.1 and 4.0.2. No salt at all seems to be
applied.
(I have some old stuff that works with 4.0.1 but stopped working with 4.0.2
and this seemed
to be the cause.)
