Hmm, The file is an normal ascii file with no weird chars or whatever (It's kinda an export looks like csv-file) What could be wrong? Greetz, Wico

} function using_globals() {

    for ($x = 0; $x < 3300; $x++) {
        $data .= $GLOBALS['file'][$x];
    }

} ...and running each function 100 times. Each typically takes 6.5-7 seconds to run 100 times, with never more than half a second between them (with the first function usually being the faster one). -- +----------------------------------------------------------------+
