This is small concern - you cannot expect numbers to be infinitely
increasable. But you can expect that if you assign number to variable and
do & with it you get sane result or error on some stage.

They don't care. They want to get sane result or meaningful message. Most
people couldn't care less what's internal representation is, once it
works. Presently, it doesn't - that's the problem.
And I would approach it from other side - not to autoconvert floats back
to ints, especially when they don't fit signed int.
