Hmm...that code works fine for me--except for some typos (unescaped
double-quotes)--but those wouldn't have caused your problem; they'd've
cause parse errors.
Does anything interesting happen when you put
'error_reporting(E_ALL);' at the beginning of the script?
With what browser are you viewing the results? What happens when you
do it at the command line?
BTW--to the question from the original bug post: Single-quoted strings
are not parsed for escape sequences or variable expansion (save \'
which does work). What behaviour are you seeing from them?
