I'm getting an ld error with PHP-4.0.3 and Apache-1.3.14, on Slackware 7.1:
./configure --with-mysql --with-apxs=/usr/local/apache/bin/apxs --enable-track-vars
--enable-trans-sid
/usr/i386-slackware-linux/bin/ld: cannot open -lpq: No such file or directory
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
make[1]: *** [libphp4.la] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory `/usr/local/src/php-4.0.3'
make: *** [all-recursive] Error 1
