Php on Personal web server

I just started learning PHP and therefor I installed Microsoft Personal Web
Server on my PC. But the Personal web server didnt display the PHP-items.
The HTML-items and js-items where displayed but I couldnt see anything that
was written in PHP. On a friend's apache server, the php worked.
So now my question. Does PHP work on a "personal web server 4.0" and do I
need special Dll-files or other special files or what else do I need to do?
What other server for win98 can I use?
