ID: 6811 Updated by: sniper Reported By: ertan@who.net Status: Closed Bug Type: Compile Problem Assigned To: Comments: When you leave --with-mysql out and don't use --without-mysql, then the bundled mysql-sources are used. Try compiling mysql from sources yourself. If that doesn't help, reopen this bug report. --Jani Previous Comments: --------------------------------------------------------------------------- [2000-09-21 18:00:41] ertan@who.net I have no idea what zlib is, I'm quite new to Linux. I could manage to install PHP402 properly without "--with-mysql".. To my surprise my PHP scripts containing mysql queries worked !.. phpinfo says mysql 3.23.10-alpha support loaded. I want to use the latest version with all functionality. It seems the problems is that I don't have libmysqlclient.so file but libmysqlclient.a... I think because I installed MySQL "binary". If I compile mysql and can I install php4 --with-mysql? --------------------------------------------------------------------------- [2000-09-21 07:48:17] sniper@php.net Do you have zlib installed? And are there any related errors in config.log ?? --Jani --------------------------------------------------------------------------- [2000-09-20 05:03:21] ertan@who.net ./configure --with-apxs=/usr/sbin/apxs --with-config-file-path=/usr/lib --with-mysql=/usr/local/mysql I added the necessary lines to httpd.conf I re-installed PHP but I alway get the same error : Cannot load /etc/httpd/modules/libphp4.so into server: /etc/httpd/modules/libphp 4.so: undefined symbol: uncompress --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Full Bug description available at: http://bugs.php.net/?id=6811
