I agree with that (the author of the ming library is very responsive, and ming
is constantly being worked on).
There are one or two issues though, I don't know what the core-dev's feel about
these, ming doesn't support normal (ps) fonts directly and I don't think it
supports any normal image formats directly (you have to convert your image into
ming format and then use the converted image). The second issue and the most
important in my mind is that the bundled php-ming extension doesn't really
conform with PHP naming standards (all OO interface, which btw, does look nicer
than any non-OO interface I can think of) and the code doesn't all conform with
the CODING_STANDARDS.
I don't know if any of the above errors are showstoppers, however, I think that
ming is definetly something to keep in mind, at least for the future...
