I have had the same thing reported to me by a user of one of my scripts who
is running PHP 4.0.3 on FreeBSD 3.5-STABLE and Apache 1.3.12., although for
him the suggested work-around of testing whether HTTP_POST_VARS is set via
the GLOBALS array did not work either - it always reported set.
