1) Is register_globals on?
2) Did you try using $HTTP_*_VARS?

Check you php.ini file, if register_globals is not turned on, do so. If this does not help, try
HTTP_GET_VARS["var"].
If you are using php.ini-optimized, please read the comments in that file.
