Just a couple suggestions.
SUN loves to claim that there binaries are always upwords compitable.
I have yet to find an app I have compiled on a lower version not work on a later.
I do believe its better to compile it on the machine you run it on, but if you have to move from one
version to the next, you should
check your optimization levels.
Also, you might want to try using SUN cc compiler.
